사무엘상 27장

다윗이 다시 아기스 왕에게 망명하다

27:1 다윗이 혼자서 생각하였다 "이제 이러다가, 내가 언젠가는 사울의 손에 붙잡혀 죽을 것이다 살아나는 길은 블레셋 사람의 땅으로 망명하는 것뿐이다 그러면 사울이 다시 나를 찾으려고 이스라엘의 온 땅을 뒤지다가 포기할 것이며, 나는 그의 손에서 벗어나게 될 것이다"

( But David thought to himself, "One of these days I will be destroyed by the hand of Saul. The best thing I can do is to escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will give up searching for me anywhere in Israel, and I will slip out of his hand.")

27:2 그래서 다윗은 일어나서, 자기를 따르는 부하 육백 명을 거느리고, 가드 왕 마옥의 아들 아기스에게로 넘어갔다

( So David and the six hundred men with him left and went over to Achish son of Maoch king of Gath.)

27:3 그리하여 다윗은 가드에 있는 아기스에게로 가서 거처를 정하였다 다윗과 그의 부하들은 저마다 가족을 거느리고 살았는데, 다윗이 거느린 두 아내는 이스르엘 여인 아히노암과 나발의 아내였던 갈멜 여인 아비가일이었다

( David and his men settled in Gath with Achish. Each man had his family with him, and David had his two wives: Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail of Carmel, the widow of Nabal.)

27:4 다윗이 가드로 도망갔다는 소식이 사울에게 전하여지니, 그가 다시는 다윗을 찾지 않았다

( When Saul was told that David had fled to Gath, he no longer searched for him.)

27:5 다윗이 아기스에게 간청하였다 "임금님이 나를 좋게 보신다면, 지방 성읍들 가운데서 하나를 나에게 주셔서, 내가 그 곳에 정착할 수 있도록 해주시기를 바랍니다 이 종이 어떻게 감히 임금님과 함께, 임금님이 계시는 도성에 살 수가 있겠습니까?"

( Then David said to Achish, "If I have found favor in your eyes, let a place be assigned to me in one of the country towns, that I may live there. Why should your servant live in the royal city with you?")

27:6 그러자 아기스는 그 날 당장 시글락을 다윗에게 주었다 그래서 시글락이 이 날까지 유다 왕들의 소유가 되었다

( So on that day Achish gave him Ziklag, and it has belonged to the kings of Judah ever since.)

27:7 다윗이 블레셋 사람의 지역에서 거주한 기간은 일 년 넉 달이었다

( David lived in Philistine territory a year and four months.)

27:8 바로 그 기간에, 다윗은 부하들을 거느리고 다니면서, 그술 사람과 기르스 사람과 아말렉 사람을 습격하곤 하였다 그 사람들은 오래 전부터 수르 광야와 이집트 국경선에 이르는 전 지역에서 살고 있었다

( Now David and his men went up and raided the Geshurites, the Girzites and the Amalekites. (From ancient times these peoples had lived in the land extending to Shur and Egypt.))

27:9 다윗은, 그들이 사는 지역을 칠 때에는, 남녀를 가리지 않고 한 사람도 살려 두지 않고, 양과 소와 나귀와 낙타와 옷을 약탈하였다 약탈물을 가지고 아기스에게로 돌아가면,

( Whenever David attacked an area, he did not leave a man or woman alive, but took sheep and cattle, donkeys and camels, and clothes. Then he returned to Achish.)

27:10 아기스는 으레 "그대들이 오늘은 어디를 습격하였소?" 하고 묻고, 그럴 때마다 다윗은, 유다의 남쪽 지역을 털었다느니, 여라무엘 족속의 남쪽 지역을 털었다느니, 또는 겐 족속의 남쪽 지역을 털었다느니, 하는 식으로 대답을 하곤 하였다

( When Achish asked, "Where did you go raiding today?" David would say, "Against the Negev of Judah" or "Against the Negev of Jerahmeel" or "Against the Negev of the Kenites.")

27:11 다윗이 남녀를 가리지 않고 죽이고 가드로 데려가지 않은 것은, 그들이 다윗의 정체를 알아, 다윗이 그런 일을 하였다고 폭로할까 두려웠기 때문이다 다윗은 블레셋 사람의 지역에 거주하는 동안, 언제나 이런 식으로 처신하였다

( He did not leave a man or woman alive to be brought to Gath, for he thought, "They might inform on us and say, 'This is what David did.'" And such was his practice as long as he lived in Philistine territory.)

27:12 아기스는 다윗의 말만 믿고서, 다윗이 자기 백성 이스라엘에게서 그토록 미움받을 짓을 하였으니, 그가 영영 자기의 종이 될 것이라고 생각하였다

( Achish trusted David and said to himself, "He has become so odious to his people, the Israelites, that he will be my servant forever.")

사무엘상 28장

28:1 그럴 즈음에 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘에 쳐들어가려고 모든 부대를 집결시켰다 그러자 아기스가 다윗에게 말하였다 "귀관이 나와 함께 출정하여야 한다는 것을 알고 있을 줄 아오 귀관은 부하들을 거느리고 직접 출정하시오"

( In those days the Philistines gathered their forces to fight against Israel. Achish said to David, "You must understand that you and your men will accompany me in the army.")

28:2 다윗이 아기스에게 대답하였다 "그렇게 하겠습니다 이 종이 무엇을 할 수 있는지, 임금님이 아시게 될 것입니다" 아기스가 다윗에게 말하였다 "좋소! 귀관을 나의 종신 경호대장으로 삼겠소"

( David said, "Then you will see for yourself what your servant can do." Achish replied, "Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life.")

사울이 무당을 찾아가다

28:3 사무엘이 이미 죽어서 온 이스라엘 백성이 그의 죽음을 슬퍼하며, 그를 그의 고향 라마에 장사지낸 뒤였다 그리고 사울이 나라 안에서 무당과 박수를 모조리 쫓아낸 때였다

( Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had mourned for him and buried him in his own town of Ramah. Saul had expelled the mediums and spiritists from the land.)

28:4 바로 그 때에 블레셋 군대가 모여서 수넴에 진을 쳤다 사울도 온 이스라엘 군을 집결시켜, 길보아 산에 진을 쳤다

( The Philistines assembled and came and set up camp at Shunem, while Saul gathered all the Israelites and set up camp at Gilboa.)

28:5 사울은 블레셋 군의 진을 보고, 두려워서 마음이 몹시 떨렸다

( When Saul saw the Philistine army, he was afraid; terror filled his heart.)

28:6 사울이 주님께 물었으나, 주님께서는 그에게 꿈으로도, 우림으로도, 예언자로도, 대답하여 주지 않으셨다

( He inquired of the LORD, but the LORD did not answer him by dreams or Urim or prophets.)

28:7 그래서 사울은 자기의 신하들에게 명령하였다 "망령을 불러올리는 여자 무당을 한 사람 찾아 보아라 내가 그 여인을 찾아가서 물어 보겠다" 사울의 신하들이 그에게 말하였다 "엔돌에 망령을 불러올리는 무당이 한 사람 있습니다"

( Saul then said to his attendants, "Find me a woman who is a medium, so I may go and inquire of her." "There is one in Endor," they said.)

28:8 사울은 다른 옷으로 갈아 입고 변장한 다음에, 두 신하를 데리고 갔다 밤에 그들이 그 여인에게 이르렀는데, 사울이 그에게 말하였다 "망령을 부르는 술법으로, 내가 당신에게 말하는 사람을 나에게 불러올려 주시오"

( So Saul disguised himself, putting on other clothes, and at night he and two men went to the woman. "Consult a spirit for me," he said, "and bring up for me the one I name.")

28:9 그러나 그 여인이 그에게 대답하였다 "이것 보시오 사울이 이 나라에서 무당과 박수를 모조리 잡아 죽인 것은, 당신도 잘 아시지 않습니까? 그런데 왜 당신은 나의 목에 올가미를 씌워, 나를 죽이려고 하십니까?"

( But the woman said to him, "Surely you know what Saul has done. He has cut off the mediums and spiritists from the land. Why have you set a trap for my life to bring about my death?")

28:10 사울이 주님의 이름을 걸고 그 여인에게 맹세하였다 "주님께서 확실히 살아 계심을 걸고 맹세하지만, 당신이 이 일로는 아무런 벌도 받지 않을 것이오"

( Saul swore to her by the LORD, "As surely as the LORD lives, you will not be punished for this.")

28:11 그 여인이 물었다 "내가 당신에게 누구를 불러올릴까요?" 사울이 대답하였다 "나에게 사무엘을 불러올리시오"

( Then the woman asked, "Whom shall I bring up for you?" "Bring up Samuel," he said.)

28:12 그 여인은 사무엘이 올라온 것을 보고, 놀라서 큰소리를 질렀다 그런 다음에, 그 여인은 사울에게 항의하였다 "사울 임금님이 몸소 오셨으면서도 왜 저를 속이셨습니까?"

( When the woman saw Samuel, she cried out at the top of her voice and said to Saul, "Why have you deceived me? You are Saul!")

28:13 왕이 그 여인에게 말하였다 "무서워하지 말아라 네가 무엇을 보고 있느냐?" 여인이 사울에게 대답하였다 "땅 속에서 영이 올라온 것을 보고 있습니다"

( The king said to her, "Don't be afraid. What do you see?" The woman said, "I see a spirit coming up out of the ground.")

28:14 사울이 그 여인에게 물었다 "그 모습이 어떠하냐?" 여인이 대답하였다 "한 노인이 올라오는데, 겉옷을 걸치고 있습니다" 사울은 그가 사무엘인 것을 알아차리고, 얼굴이 땅에 닿도록 엎드려 절을 하였다

( "What does he look like?" he asked. "An old man wearing a robe is coming up," she said. Then Saul knew it was Samuel, and he bowed down and prostrated himself with his face to the ground.)

28:15 사무엘이 사울에게 물었다 "당신이 왜 나를 불러올려 귀찮게 하시오?" 사울이 대답하였다 "제가 매우 궁지에 몰려 있습니다 블레셋 사람이 지금 저를 치고 있는데, 하나님이 이미 저에게서 떠나셨고, 예언자로도, 꿈으로도, 더 이상 저에게 응답을 하지 않으십니다 그래서 제가 무엇을 어떻게 해야 하는지 알고 싶어서, 이처럼 어른을 뵙도록 해 달라고 부탁하였습니다"

( Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you disturbed me by bringing me up?" "I am in great distress," Saul said. "The Philistines are fighting against me, and God has turned away from me. He no longer answers me, either by prophets or by dreams. So I have called on you to tell me what to do.")

28:16 사무엘이 책망하였다 "주님께서는 이미 당신에게서 떠나 당신의 원수가 되셨는데, 나에게 더 묻는 이유가 무엇이오?

( Samuel said, "Why do you consult me, now that the LORD has turned away from you and become your enemy?)

28:17 주님께서는, 나를 시켜 전하신 말씀 그대로 당신에게 하셔서, 이미 이 나라의 왕위를 당신의 손에서 빼앗아 당신의 가까이에 있는 다윗에게 주셨소

( The LORD has done what he predicted through me. The LORD has torn the kingdom out of your hands and given it to one of your neighbors--to David.)

28:18 당신은 주님께 순종하지 아니하고, 주님의 분노를 아말렉에게 쏟지 아니하였소 그렇기 때문에 주님께서 오늘 당신에게 이렇게 하셨소

( Because you did not obey the LORD or carry out his fierce wrath against the Amalekites, the LORD has done this to you today.)

28:19 주님께서는 이제 당신과 함께 이스라엘도 블레셋 사람의 손에 넘겨 주실 터인데, 당신은 내일 당신 자식들과 함께 내가 있는 이 곳으로 오게 될 것이오 주님께서는 이스라엘 군대도 블레셋 사람의 손에 넘겨 주실 것이오"

( The LORD will hand over both Israel and you to the Philistines, and tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The LORD will also hand over the army of Israel to the Philistines.")

28:20 그러자 사울은 갑자기 그 자리에 쓰러져 땅바닥에 벌렁 넘어졌다 사무엘의 말을 듣고서, 너무나 두려웠기 때문이다 게다가 그는 그 날 하루 종일, 그리고 밤새도록 굶었으므로, 힘마저 쭉 빠져 있었다

( Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, filled with fear because of Samuel's words. His strength was gone, for he had eaten nothing all that day and night.)

28:21 그 여인이 사울에게 가까이 와서, 그가 아주 기진맥진해 있는 것을 보고, 그에게 말하였다 "보십시오, 이 종은 임금님의 분부를 다 따랐습니다 저는 목숨을 내놓고, 임금님이 저에게 명령하신 대로 다 이루어 드렸습니다

( When the woman came to Saul and saw that he was greatly shaken, she said, "Look, your maidservant has obeyed you. I took my life in my hands and did what you told me to do.)

28:22 그러므로 이제는 임금님도 이 종의 말씀을 들어 주시기 바랍니다 제가 임금님께 음식을 좀 대접하여 드리겠습니다 임금님이 길을 더 가시려면 기운을 차리셔야 하니, 음식을 드시기 바랍니다"

( Now please listen to your servant and let me give you some food so you may eat and have the strength to go on your way.")

28:23 그러나 사울은 "아무것도 먹고 싶지 않다!" 하고 말하면서, 그 여인의 청을 거절하였다 그러나 사울의 신하들까지 그 여인과 함께 사울에게 권하니, 사울이 그들의 말을 듣고, 땅바닥에서 일어나 평상에 앉았다

( He refused and said, "I will not eat." But his men joined the woman in urging him, and he listened to them. He got up from the ground and sat on the couch.)

28:24 그 여인에게는 집에서 키운 살진 송아지가 한 마리 있었는데, 서둘러서 그것을 잡고, 밀가루를 가져다가 반죽하여 누룩을 넣지 않은 빵을 구워서,

( The woman had a fattened calf at the house, which she butchered at once. She took some flour, kneaded it and baked bread without yeast.)

28:25 사울과 그의 신하들 앞에 차려 놓으니, 그들은 그 음식을 먹고 일어나서, 그 밤에 떠났다

( Then she set it before Saul and his men, and they ate. That same night they got up and left.)

사무엘상 29장

다윗이 블레셋 사람들에게 배척을 당하다

29:1 블레셋 사람은 모든 부대를 아벡에 집결시켰고, 이스라엘 사람은 이스르엘에 있는 샘가에 진을 쳤다

( The Philistines gathered all their forces at Aphek, and Israel camped by the spring in Jezreel.)

29:2 블레셋 사람의 지도자들은 수백 명, 수천 명씩 거느리고 나아갔으며, 다윗도 부하를 거느리고, 그 행렬의 맨 뒤에서 아기스와 함께 나아갔더니,

( As the Philistine rulers marched with their units of hundreds and thousands, David and his men were marching at the rear with Achish.)

29:3 블레셋 사람의 지휘관들이 항의하였다 "이 히브리 사람들이 무엇 때문에 여기에 와 있습니까?" 아기스가 블레셋 사람의 지휘관들에게 말하였다 "귀관들도 알다시피, 이 사람은 이스라엘 왕 사울의 종이었던 다윗이오 그가 나와 함께 지낸 지가 이미 한두 해가 지났지만, 그가 망명하여 온 날부터 오늘까지, 나는 그에게서 아무런 허물도 찾지 못하였소"

( The commanders of the Philistines asked, "What about these Hebrews?" Achish replied, "Is this not David, who was an officer of Saul king of Israel? He has already been with me for over a year, and from the day he left Saul until now, I have found no fault in him.")

29:4 그러나 블레셋 족속의 지휘관들은 다윗에게 분노를 터뜨렸다 블레셋 족속의 지휘관들이 아기스에게 강요하였다 "저 사람을 돌려 보내십시오 임금님께서 그에게 지정하여 준 그 곳으로 그를 돌려보내시고, 우리와 함께 싸움터에 나가지 않도록 하여 주십시오 싸움터에 나가서 그가 우리의 대적으로 돌변할지도 모르는 일입니다 그가 무엇을 가지고 자기의 주인과 화해할 수가 있겠습니까? 우리 군인들의 머리를 잘라다 바쳐서 하지 않겠습니까?

( But the Philistine commanders were angry with him and said, "Send the man back, that he may return to the place you assigned him. He must not go with us into battle, or he will turn against us during the fighting. How better could he regain his master's favor than by taking the heads of our own men?)

29:5 그가 바로, 이스라엘 백성이 춤을 추면서, '사울은 수천 명을 죽이고, 다윗은 수만 명을 죽였다!' 하고 추켜세우던 그 다윗이 아닙니까?"

( Isn't this the David they sang about in their dances: "'Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands'?")

29:6 마침내 아기스가 다윗을 불러 말하였다 "주님께서 확실히 살아 계심을 걸고 맹세하지만, 장군은 정직하였소 나에게로 온 날부터 오늘까지, 나는 장군에게서 아무런 허물도 찾지 못하였기 때문에, 장군이 나와 함께 이 부대에 들어와서 출전하는 것을 좋게 생각하였소 그런데 저 지휘관들은 장군을 못마땅해 하오

( So Achish called David and said to him, "As surely as the LORD lives, you have been reliable, and I would be pleased to have you serve with me in the army. From the day you came to me until now, I have found no fault in you, but the rulers don't approve of you.)

29:7 그러니 이제 장군은, 블레셋 사람의 지도자들의 눈에 거슬리는 일을 더 이상 하지 말고, 평안히 돌아가기를 바라오"

( Turn back and go in peace; do nothing to displease the Philistine rulers.")

29:8 이번에는 다윗이 아기스에게 항의하였다 "내가 잘못한 일이 무엇입니까? 임금님을 섬기기 시작한 날부터 오늘에 이르기까지, 임금님께서 말씀하신 대로 종에게서 아무런 허물이 드러나지 않았다면, 왜 이 종이 이제 나의 상전이신 임금님의 원수들과 싸우러 나갈 수가 없습니까?"

( "But what have I done?" asked David. "What have you found against your servant from the day I came to you until now? Why can't I go and fight against the enemies of my lord the king?")

29:9 아기스가 다윗에게 대답하였다 "장군이 정직하다는 것을 나는 잘 아오 나는 장군을 하나님의 천사처럼 여기오 그런데 블레셋 사람의 지휘관들이 장군과 함께는 싸움터에 나가지 않겠다고 말하오

( Achish answered, "I know that you have been as pleasing in my eyes as an angel of God; nevertheless, the Philistine commanders have said, 'He must not go up with us into battle.')

29:10 그러니, 이제 장군은, 장군이 데리고 있는 옛 주인의 종들과 더불어, 내일 아침 일찍 일어나시오 내일 아침에 일찍 일어나서, 해가 뜨는 대로 떠나도록 하시오"

( Now get up early, along with your master's servants who have come with you, and leave in the morning as soon as it is light.")

29:11 그리하여 다윗은 다음날 아침에 일찍 일어나, 부하들과 함께 출발하여 블레셋 사람의 땅으로 돌아오고, 블레셋 족속은 이스르엘로 올라갔다

( So David and his men got up early in the morning to go back to the land of the Philistines, and the Philistines went up to Jezreel.)

사무엘상 30장

다윗이 아말렉과 싸우다

30:1 다윗이 부하들과 함께 사흘 만에 시글락으로 돌아왔을 때에는, 아말렉 사람이 이미 남부 지역과 시글락을 습격하고 떠난 뒤였다 그들은 시글락에 침입하여 성에 불을 지르고,

( David and his men reached Ziklag on the third day. Now the Amalekites had raided the Negev and Ziklag. They had attacked Ziklag and burned it,)

30:2 여자를 비롯하여, 그 성읍 안에 있는 모든 사람을, 어린 아이나 노인 할 것 없이 사로잡아, 한 사람도 죽이지 않고 끌고 갔다

( and had taken captive the women and all who were in it, both young and old. They killed none of them, but carried them off as they went on their way.)

30:3 다윗이 부하들을 거느리고 그 성읍으로 들어와 보니, 성은 불타 버렸고, 아내들과 아이들이 모두 사로잡혀 갔다

( When David and his men came to Ziklag, they found it destroyed by fire and their wives and sons and daughters taken captive.)

30:4 다윗과 그의 부하들은 목놓아 울었다 모두들 더 이상 울 힘이 없어 지칠 때까지 울었다

( So David and his men wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep.)

30:5 다윗의 두 아내인 이스르엘 여인 아히노암과 나발의 아내였던 갈멜 여인 아비가일도 사로잡혀 갔다

( David's two wives had been captured--Ahinoam of Jezreel and Abigail, the widow of Nabal of Carmel.)

30:6 군인들이 저마다 아들딸들을 잃고 마음이 아파서, 다윗을 돌로 치자고 말할 정도였으니, 다윗은 큰 곤경에 빠졌다 그러나 다윗은 자기가 믿는 주 하나님을 더욱 굳게 의지하였다

( David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God.)

30:7 다윗이 아히멜렉의 아들 제사장 아비아달에게 말하였다 "어서 나에게 에봇을 가져다 주시오!" 아비아달이 에봇을 다윗에게 가져오니,

( Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, "Bring me the ephod." Abiathar brought it to him,)

30:8 다윗이 주님께 문의하였다 "제가 이 강도들을 추격하면 따라잡을 수 있겠습니까?" 주님께서 그에게 대답하셨다 "네가 틀림없이 따라잡고, 또 틀림없이 되찾을 것이니, 추격하여라!"

( and David inquired of the LORD, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.")

30:9 다윗은 데리고 있는 부하 육백 명을 거느리고 출동하였다 그들이 브솔 시내에 이르렀을 때에, 낙오자들이 생겨서 그 자리에 머물렀다

( David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Ravine, where some stayed behind,)

30:10 그래서 브솔 시내를 건너가지 못할 만큼 지친 사람 이백 명은 그 자리에 남겨 두고, 다윗은 사백 명만을 거느리고 계속 추격하였다

( for two hundred men were too exhausted to cross the ravine. But David and four hundred men continued the pursuit.)

30:11 군인들이 들녘에서 한 이집트 사람을 발견하여 다윗에게로 데리고 왔다 그들은 그에게 빵을 주어 먹게 하고, 물도 주어 마시게 하였다

( They found an Egyptian in a field and brought him to David. They gave him water to drink and food to eat--)

30:12 그들은 또 그에게 무화과 뭉치 한 개와 건포도 뭉치 두 개를 주었다 그는 밤낮 사흘 동안 빵도 먹지 못하고 물도 마시지 못하였으므로, 이렇게 먹고서야 제정신을 차렸다

( part of a cake of pressed figs and two cakes of raisins. He ate and was revived, for he had not eaten any food or drunk any water for three days and three nights.)

30:13 다윗이 그에게 물어 보았다 "너의 주인은 누구이며, 네가 사는 곳은 어디냐?" 그가 대답하였다 "저는 이집트 소년으로서, 아말렉 사람의 노예로 있었습니다 사흘 전에 제가 병이 들자, 저의 주인이 저를 버리고 갔습니다

( David asked him, "To whom do you belong, and where do you come from?" He said, "I am an Egyptian, the slave of an Amalekite. My master abandoned me when I became ill three days ago.)

30:14 우리가 습격한 지역은 그렛 사람의 남부 지역과 유다 지역과 갈렙 사람의 남부 지역이며, 시글락도 우리가 불질렀습니다"

( We raided the Negev of the Kerethites and the territory belonging to Judah and the Negev of Caleb. And we burned Ziklag.")

30:15 다윗이 그에게 또 물었다 "네가 나를 그 습격자들이 있는 곳으로 데려다 주겠느냐?" 그가 대답하였다 "저를 죽이지 아니하시고, 저를 주인의 손에 넘기지도 아니하시겠다고, 하나님의 이름으로 저에게 맹세하시면, 그 습격자들이 있는 곳으로 모시고 가겠습니다!"

( David asked him, "Can you lead me down to this raiding party?" He answered, "Swear to me before God that you will not kill me or hand me over to my master, and I will take you down to them.")

30:16 그는 다윗을 인도하여 내려갔다 그 습격자들은 블레셋 족속의 땅과 유다 땅에서 약탈하여 온 그 많은 전리품을 가지고, 사방으로 흩어져서 먹고 마시며, 큰 잔치를 벌이고 있었다

( He led David down, and there they were, scattered over the countryside, eating, drinking and reveling because of the great amount of plunder they had taken from the land of the Philistines and from Judah.)

30:17 다윗이 새벽부터 그 이튿날 저녁때까지 그들을 치니, 그들 가운데서 낙타를 탄 젊은이 사백 명이 도망친 것 말고는, 한 사람도 살아 남지 못하였다

( David fought them from dusk until the evening of the next day, and none of them got away, except four hundred young men who rode off on camels and fled.)

30:18 이리하여 다윗은 아말렉 사람에게 약탈당하였던 모든 것을 되찾았다 두 아내도 되찾았다

( David recovered everything the Amalekites had taken, including his two wives.)

30:19 다윗의 부하들도 잃어버린 것을 모두 찾았다 다윗은 어린 아이로부터 나이 많은 노인에 이르기까지, 아들과 딸, 그리고 전리품에서부터 아말렉 사람이 약탈하여 간 모든 것에 이르기까지, 그 모든 것을 되찾았다

( Nothing was missing: young or old, boy or girl, plunder or anything else they had taken. David brought everything back.)

30:20 다윗은 또 양 떼와 소 떼도 모두 되찾았다 부하들은 가축을 몰고 다윗보다 앞서서 가면서 "다윗의 전리품이다!" 하고 외쳤다

( He took all the flocks and herds, and his men drove them ahead of the other livestock, saying, "This is David's plunder.")

30:21 다윗이 브솔 개울 가까이에 이르니, 전에 다윗을 따라갈 수 없을 만큼 지쳐서 그 곳에 남아 있던 낙오자 이백 명이 나와서, 다윗을 환영하고, 다윗과 함께 오는 군인들도 환영하였다 다윗도 그 군인들에게 가까이 나아가, 따뜻하게 문안하였다

( Then David came to the two hundred men who had been too exhausted to follow him and who were left behind at the Besor Ravine. They came out to meet David and the people with him. As David and his men approached, he greeted them.)

30:22 그러나 다윗과 함께 출전하였던 군인들 가운데서 악하고 야비한 사람들은, 거기에 남아 있던 이들이 못마땅하여, 자기들과 함께 출전하지 않았던 군인들에게는 되찾은 물건을 하나도 돌려 주지 말고, 다만 각자의 아내와 자식들만 데리고 가게 하자고 우겼다

( But all the evil men and troublemakers among David's followers said, "Because they did not go out with us, we will not share with them the plunder we recovered. However, each man may take his wife and children and go.")

30:23 그러나 다윗은 그들을 달랬다 "동지들, 주님께서 우리를 지켜 주시고, 우리에게 쳐들어온 습격자들을 우리의 손에 넘겨 주셨소 주님께서 우리에게 선물로 주신 것을 가지고, 우리가 그렇게 처리해서는 안 되오

( David replied, "No, my brothers, you must not do that with what the LORD has given us. He has protected us and handed over to us the forces that came against us.)

30:24 또 동지들이 제안한 이 말을 들을 사람은 아무도 없소 전쟁에 나갔던 사람의 몫이나, 남아서 물건을 지킨 사람의 몫이나, 똑같아야 하오 모두 똑같은 몫으로 나누어야 하오"

( Who will listen to what you say? The share of the man who stayed with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All will share alike.")

30:25 다윗이 이 때에 이스라엘에서 정한 것이 율례와 규례가 되어, 그 때부터 오늘날까지 지켜지고 있다

( David made this a statute and ordinance for Israel from that day to this.)

30:26 시글락으로 돌아온 다윗은 전리품 가운데서 얼마를 떼어, 그의 친구들 곧 유다의 장로들에게 보내면서, 그것이 주님의 원수들에게서 약탈한 전리품 가운데서 떼어내어 선물로 보내는 것이라고 밝혔다

( When David arrived in Ziklag, he sent some of the plunder to the elders of Judah, who were his friends, saying, "Here is a present for you from the plunder of the LORD'S enemies.")

30:27 베델과 라못네겝과 얏딜과

( He sent it to those who were in Bethel, Ramoth Negev and Jattir;)

30:28 아로엘과 십못과 에스드모아와

( to those in Aroer, Siphmoth, Eshtemoa)

30:29 라갈과 여라므엘 사람의 성읍들과 겐 사람의 성읍들과

( and Racal; to those in the towns of the Jerahmeelites and the Kenites;)

30:30 호르마와 고라산과 아닥과

( to those in Hormah, Bor Ashan, Athach)

30:31 헤브론과, 다윗이 부하들을 거느리고 드나들던 모든 지방에 있는 사람들에게, 그는 그 선물을 보냈다

( and Hebron; and to those in all the other places where David and his men had roamed.)

사울과 요나단의 최후;대상10:1-14

31:1 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘에 싸움을 걸어 왔다 이스라엘 사람들은 블레셋 사람 앞에서 도망하다가 길보아 산에서 죽임을 당하여 쓰러졌다

( Now the Philistines fought against Israel; the Israelites fled before them, and many fell slain on Mount Gilboa.)

31:2 블레셋 사람들은 사울과 그의 아들들을 바싹 추격하여, 사울의 아들 요나단과 아비나답과 말기수아를 죽였다

( The Philistines pressed hard after Saul and his sons, and they killed his sons Jonathan, Abinadab and Malki-Shua.)

31:3 싸움이 치열해지면서, 전세가 사울에게 불리해졌다 활을 쏘는 군인들이 사울을 알아보고 활을 쏘자, 그가 화살을 맞고 중상을 입었다

( The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him critically.)

31:4 사울이 자기의 무기 담당 병사에게 명령하였다 "네 칼을 뽑아서 나를 찔러라 저 할례받지 못한 이방인들이 와서 나를 찌르고 능욕하지 못하도록 하여라" 그러나 그 무기 담당 병사는 너무 겁이 나서, 찌르려고 하지 않았다 그러자 사울은 자기의 칼을 뽑아서, 그 위에 엎어졌다

( Saul said to his armor-bearer, "Draw your sword and run me through, or these uncircumcised fellows will come and run me through and abuse me." But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it.)

31:5 그 무기 담당 병사는 사울이 죽는 것을 보고, 자기도 자기의 칼을 뽑아 그 위에 엎어져서, 사울과 함께 죽었다

( When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died with him.)

31:6 사울과 그의 세 아들과 사울의 무기 담당 병사가 이렇게 죽었다 사울의 부하도 그 날 다 함께 죽었다

( So Saul and his three sons and his armor-bearer and all his men died together that same day.)

31:7 골짜기 건너편과 요단 강 건너편에 살던 이스라엘 사람들은, 이스라엘 군인들이 도망친 것과 사울과 그의 아들들이 죽은 것을 보고, 살던 성읍들을 버리고 도망쳤다 그래서 블레셋 사람이 여러 성읍으로 들어와서 거기에서 살았다

( When the Israelites along the valley and those across the Jordan saw that the Israelite army had fled and that Saul and his sons had died, they abandoned their towns and fled. And the Philistines came and occupied them.)

31:8 그 이튿날, 블레셋 사람이 죽은 사람들의 옷을 벗기러 왔다가, 사울과 그의 세 아들이 길보아 산에 쓰러져 있는 것을 발견하였다

( The next day, when the Philistines came to strip the dead, they found Saul and his three sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.)

31:9 그들은 사울의 목을 자르고, 그의 갑옷을 벗긴 다음에, 블레셋 땅 사방으로 전령들을 보내어, 자기들이 섬기는 우상들의 신전과 백성에게 승리의 소식을 전하였다

( They cut off his head and stripped off his armor, and they sent messengers throughout the land of the Philistines to proclaim the news in the temple of their idols and among their people.)

31:10 그런 다음에 그들은, 사울의 갑옷을 아스다롯의 신전에 보관하고, 사울의 주검은 벳산 성벽에 매달아 두었다

( They put his armor in the temple of the Ashtoreths and fastened his body to the wall of Beth Shan.)

31:11 길르앗 야베스의 주민들은 블레셋 사람들이 사울에게 한 일을 전해들었다

( When the people of Jabesh Gilead heard of what the Philistines had done to Saul,)

31:12 그래서 그들의 용사들이 모두 나서서, 밤새도록 걸어 벳산까지 가서, 사울의 주검과 그 아들들의 시체를 성벽에서 내려 가지고 야베스로 돌아와, 그 주검을 모두 거기에서 화장하고,

( all their valiant men journeyed through the night to Beth Shan. They took down the bodies of Saul and his sons from the wall of Beth Shan and went to Jabesh, where they burned them.)

31:13 그들의 뼈를 거두어다가 야베스에 있는 에셀 나무 아래에 묻고, 이레 동안 금식하였다

( Then they took their bones and buried them under a tamarisk tree at Jabesh, and they fasted seven days.)
